The Plans Are On The Way
I cropped the funky conceptual design drawing down to just the lighthouse so more of the detail is visible. It can be viewed after the “Continue Reading” link. I phoned the Philly office of the National Archives yesterday and apparently they didn’t receive my email. I resent it and this morning spoke to the guy in charge of the lighthouse records. He found all of them except the Cutoff Channel Range one (only the front beacon plans were supposedly available, but he says he doesn’t have them). I even asked him to search by “Craighill Channel Upper Range”, but nothing. So the Upper Range plans don’t appear to exist - the forgotten lighthouses! The plans will be sent in the mail today, so I may receive them by Saturday. How exciting!
Sunday will be the last day out until Spring, most likely. I’ve agreed to have the boat taken out of the water and winterized on Monday. Another woman is going out with me and we’ll attempt to get as much done as possible. The holiday season has really restricted others’ availability. The weather is predicted to be very chilly over the weekend, but the cold front should have passed, so hopefully the wind and waters will be calm. I’m just hoping the boat starts when it’s less than 40* out!
