You too can create a page to set goals of fundraising to pay for the “dock on the bay” at the lighthouse!

    Hi Cathy,

I see that you have been having more than a few challenges with your internal web links and I hope not with your support base.

I( truly do believe that you would do better to acquire a small tug or ex-army T-boat so that you can tow a smallish barge (if you can acquire a small one) out to Front Beacon Light for the day of an event or for an entire weekend and then shuttle your folks back and forth from the shore.

Annual pier maintenance at such an exposed location would be quite overwhelming I should think.

    Tnx,
    Walt

I just found your site. Very enjoyable reading. Keep us posted on how things are going. We don’t have the water issues here in St. Augustine that you do, but we are still an active private aid for the Coast Guard. Glad you are blogging. We just started last fall.

    Hello,

I have known Craig Hill Light all my life. It holds many special memories of time spent with my dad. When ever there was no action trolling in the bay for bluefish I would always plead my case to dad, “Lets go to Craig Hill!”. You could always count on catching a white perch or one of those interesting toad fish. Dad always rolled his eyes knowing the game I was insearch of but every trip always ended up with smiles and a lot of catch and release. Today on Fathers day I revisited Craig Hill for the first time in my own boat. What a gorgeous day. That is when I noticed that work was being done there in attemps to restore my treasured memory. This lead me to the net to see what was happening to my little fire plug in the bay. I live in Shrewsbury now wife wife and son. I do residential remodeling, electric, plumbing and all the other trades. I am a degreed engineer retired from from the field after 6 years. I enjoy creating and fixing just about everything. Check out maywebsite let me know if I can help out with the restoration or logistics. (volunteer of course)
Thanks for what you are doing!

Hi Walt, well, the challenges just keep on coming. I received your voicemail about the fireboat. Did you get my return voicemail? I am intrigued, but if it requires restoration work, I don’t think we’re up for that. The lighthouse is enough of a project, as neat as it would be to have another piece of Baltimore’s history for getting people out there! I’m also in the process of writing a book on Maryland lighthouses. Keep an eye out for updates on that!

John, what great memories you have! I’m so thrilled you noticed that someone was working on it! We’d love to have you come out and work on it.

Rick, wow, hi! I met Molly at the lighthouse conference. Tell her Cathy still reminisces about Fort DeSoto beaches (I’m a west coast FL girl)! I’ll definitely check out your blog.

I had website issues after moving to a hosting provider, but everything should be back up and running now and I’ve posted a new update.
